The unique, geometrical shapes of the Pathfinder are conducted from the movement of people; their steps and routes. By creating and renovating dwellings in Osdorp, a neighbourhood in Amsterdam, its residents are encouraged to seek their own path in an open living environment. Public, collective and private space come together and the borders in between are blurred. In the layered privacy of glass, steel, and nature, the residents are able to determine their own transparency as they wish. Big windows on the corners of the shapes allow plenty of sight and light to both out- and inside. The existing trees of the area retain its original character, but with the addition of fresh urban space Osdorp is given a much-needed boost.
