park + stay
An urban design — Rotterdam, The Netherlands
bachelor studio 3 / TU Delft
Like a green vein through the heart of Rotterdam, the route focuses on sustainability while linking disconnected parts of the city. With the central station as starting point, the route meanders through the Museumpark, a revitalized public square, over an imposing orange bridge, towards the quay. Part of this route is Park+Stay, which responds to the current demand of working, living, and leisure space, offering this in a plan that totals 40212m2. The plan has a stairs-turned-tribune that facilitates recreation and events, a lively meeting square, and a marvelous boardwalk that brings its visitors closer to the characteristic waterfront of Rotterdam. The red and gray metallic facades of the apartments and offices are reminiscent of the harbour past.
